Most Common Bulldog Health Problems

Most all dog breeds have a list of common health issues and concerns that need to be addressed or that you just need to be aware of. They are fantastic animals but there are a few things you should know if you already have one or are planning on getting one.

The English Bulldog breed is not the kind of dog you take out for long runs or walks especially in the heat. The can get heat stroke very easily. They are considered a heat-sensitive dog breed. Hip Dysplasia is another common problem. It's a joint disease that is common in many other breeds. English Bulldogs with sensitive skin can get Dermatitis which is a skin condition that can be caused by their diet or even their surroundings. Bulldogs also have allergy issues which can be brought on by air fresheners, perfumes or the shampoo that you use on them.

These are just a few common problems that come to mind... if you ever notice anything odd whether it be a skin rash, change in appetite or anything else unusual you should take them into the vet for a check up. Always be aware of what you feed your dog and what you use to bath them.
