Feeding Your Bulldog

Your dogs diet is very important and contributes to your Bulldogs health in many ways. Many people have made the mistake of just buying the most expensive food thinking that it must be the best one. Well, this couldn't be anymore wrong. Every dog is different so you want to make sure they are getting exactly what they need as well as the right amount.

Maybe your Bulldog has allergies or is sensitive to certain ingredients so you have to be very careful as to which one you purchase. It is trial and error until you find the one that your dog really likes and responds well to. Learn about the ingredients and reading the labels on the dog food. This can help you out tremendously in your decision making. Many times, dog owners have a dog with special needs and take the route of making it themselves. At least this way you know exactly what is going into their body. Raw food diets have become more popular and have proven to be quite beneficial for Bulldogs and other breeds alike.

Set up a time in the morning and in the evening to feed your bulldog. This makes for some consistency and also, if you don't have a dog door for them to come in and out as they please, this will regulate a schedule for them going to the bathroom which is helpful for the both of you. Make sure you are feeding them just the right amount, not too little and not too much. Free feeding is bad and can lead to dog obesity and not enough food can lead to malnutrition and other health issues. Read the bag, do some research or talk to your vet.
